About Brachial Plexus Surgery

Brachial plexus injuries can result from trauma, such as road accidents, sports injuries, or birth-related complications. In severe cases, surgical intervention is required to restore nerve function. Brachial plexus surgery involves intricate microsurgical techniques to repair, reconstruct, or transfer nerves to regain movement and sensation. The type of procedure depends on the severity and location of the nerve damage.

OUR APPROACH TO BRACHIAL PLEXUS SURGERY

Replacing the damaged segment of the nerve with a healthy nerve graft.

Redirecting a functioning nerve from another part of the body to restore movement.

Transplanting muscles with intact nerve supply to improve function in severely damaged cases.

A comprehensive post-surgical rehabilitation plan to maximize recovery and functionality.

WHEN TO CONSIDER BRACHIAL PLEXUS SURGERY

  • Complete or partial loss of movement and sensation in the arm.
  • Persistent weakness despite physical therapy.
  • Severe pain due to nerve damage.
  • Failure of spontaneous nerve recovery within 3-6 months post-injury.

Early consultation is crucial as nerve recovery is time-sensitive. Delayed treatment can reduce the chances of regaining full functionality.
