Penile Enlargement
There are two basic ways in which the Penis can be enlarged :
- Penile lengthening
- Penile girth enhancement
Penile Lengthening
Many men feel embarrassed or self-consciousness while in the locker room or when they are with their partner. You may feel a longer penis would improve your self-esteem and self-confidence. After penis enlargement surgery, patients speak enthusiastically about satisfaction with the results and report a positive sense of feeling more confident.
The surgery increases the non-erect length of the penis and, to a lesser extent, the erect length. The average gain in length is 3-4 cm but varies from person to person. It’s not possible to know ahead of time how much actual length you will gain after the surgery.
The surgery is done under general anaesthetic. Release of the internal part of the penis is done by dividing a ligament holding it in place. Sometimes, liposuction to the area above the penis will be recommended if this area is too full and is masking the full length of the penile shaft.
After the surgery you will be able to control any pain with medication and most men don’t require it any longer by the 5th day following surgery. You will have to pay attention to special instructions in order to keep the extra length gained during the operation –specifically, you will need to wear weights and wrap your penis for 12 weeks. This is done during the day only and is inconspicuous in regular clothing. Most men require 1 week off work, but this varies with the job. Sexual activity must be avoided for 3 to 4 weeks afterwards, and high energy sports for 6 weeks.
Penile Girth Enhancement
Fat injection is a well known plastic surgery technique which, in this case, enlarges the penis circumference or width. A penile enlargement surgery is done as a day care surgery under general anaesthesia. The fat injected is usually taken from the abdomen through a tiny abdominal incision and is then injected through one or more tiny incisions under the foreskin (if present), just below the head of the penis. The stitches are dissolvable and the incisions heal with almost no scar.
Enhancement can also be done by Derma Fat grafting, which involves placing a layer of dermafat, usually taken from the groin.
Penile enhancement surgery does not have a fully predictable outcome. You will wrap your penis with a soft rolled dressing that will serve to keep the fat evenly distributed along the length of your penis. In the first few days, any unevenness can be corrected by moving the injected fat into the deficient area.
